It’s a popular one at the lake and everyone can do this with little impact on anyone else.
Put up a little sign by the toilet that says “In the land of fun and sun we never flush for number one”.
So much water is used during each flush it makes sense not to flush as often. At the lake, we put toilet paper in the bin so it does not look bad and does not ruin the septic system. If you do this in conjunction with water flush reduction strategies and using greywater for a flush you can multiply your efforts!
I have seen many versions of the reminder sign in my time but this is the one that always sticks with me.
