The City of Morden is moving to Normal Drought Stage

MORDEN, Manitoba – The City of Morden is moving its drought response stage to Normal.

With the spring melt inflows, the water level in Lake Minnewasta has risen to 1’ below the full-supply level as of March 28, 2022. We are expecting it to overflow by tomorrow.

Considering the current lake level and the Drought Plan guidelines, we are lifting restrictions and moving to the Normal drought stage.

We recommend, however, that residents continue to practise water conservation habits. By doing this, we will reduce the discharge to the lagoons and also save on water bills.

We are also offering a rebate on Low Flow fixture replacements to replace toilets with cistern capacity of 10 Liter per flush or more and high flow showerheads.

  • $75 for toilets (limit of 2 per household)
  • $15 for showerheads (limit of 2 per household)
